One of my favorite signs of revitalization in New Orleans in the past three years is the abundance of art, crafts and farmers markets that have developed all over the city to bring neighbors closer together.
The Broad Street Bazaar joins the market game this Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and will be located at the corner of Broad and Bienville (in the Roberts parking lot).
This new market is presented by Phoenix New Orleans and will feature flea market vendors, arts & crafts, health screenings by Tulane, and a voter registration drive. This ongoing event will take place on the fourth Saturday of every month.
Saturday morning I recommend shopping cross-town from the Warehouse District, to Gretna to the Upper 9 to the new Mid-City/Broad Street market to shop local and feel a sense of community and the different vibes that makes each New Orleans neighborhood so special.
