2009 Fillaboa Albarino

Rias Baixas, Spain / $16-19 Retail

Located in Spain's Galicia region, bordering Portugal, Rias Biaxas is home to Bodegas Fillaboa, which produces some of the finest young white wines from estate-grown Albarino fruit. A refreshing summer wine, this medium-bodied Albarino has a supple texture and is well-balanced. It hass fragrances of green apple, fresh-cut lemon and melon. On the palate, taste dazzling acidity and an exciting minerality with vibrant stone and tropical fruit undertones. Drink it as an aperitif or serve it with salads, sushi, tapas, garlicky steamed mussels, grilled fish, seafood dishes, and Thai and other spicy cuisines. Buy it at: Cork & Bottle, W.I.N.O.
