2007 Witness Tree ChainSaw Pinot Noir

Willamette Valley, Oregon / $20 Retail

Produced at a small, family-owned winery from 100 percent estate-grown fruit, this lovely, medium-bodied wine is an affordable alternative to higher priced Pinot Noirs. In the glass, expect concentrated aromas of cherry and dark berries with savory spice notes. Taste complex flavors of red cherry, raspberry and blackberry with toasty notes and a hint of minerality, finishing with balanced acidity and even tannins. Decant before serving. Drink it with smoked salmon, grilled pork tenderloin, roast fowl or lamb, veal dishes and cheese. Buy it at: Dorignac's and Acquistapace's Covington Super Market. Drink it at: Le Meritage, NOLA, Emeril's and Lilette. — Brenda Maitland
