2007 Domaine de Regusse Pinot Noir

Alpes de Haute Provence, France / $10-$15 Retail

This domaine's vineyards sit in the foothills of the Luberon mountains north of Marseilles and about 25 miles above Aix-en-Provence. Aged 15 months in French oak, the wine is light and fruity yet supple, dry with complexity. In the glass, inviting red berry aromas mingle with floral notes, sweet spice and a touch of earth. On the palate, luscious strawberry and raspberry flavors erupt with the added character of dried cranberry, cassis and an herbal component. Drink it with chicken Provencal, veal roast, grilled meats and game. Buy it at: Swirl Wines, Cork & Bottle, Bacchanal, Martin Wine Cellar in Metairie and Acquistapace's Covington Supermarket. Drink it at: Iris, Boucherie, MiLa, Emeril's Delmonico and Dakota.
