Local coffee hawkers Mojo Coffee Roasters
is expanding to the French Quarter. The company opens a coffee bar Thursday, Sept. 1 inside the Saint Hotel
(931 Canal St., 504-522-5400).
The company opened its first cafe on lower Magazine Street in 2006 and has been growing since owner Demian Estevez jumped into the roasting business
last year with barista-turned-roaster Matt Cronin.
The new hotel location, called Mojo Coffee Bar, has a short menu featuring the company’s single-origin, small-batch coffee and espresso drinks. It also sells brewing equipment and coffee accoutrements.
To celebrate opening day, all drinks are half-price at the new location from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Regular hours for the cafe are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
