Hurricane Bianca set for September release

Hurricane Bianca hits both coasts in September. Bianca Del Rio, aka Roy Haylock, and Matt Kugelman's independent film tells the story of a teacher in a small town in Texas who loses his job because he is gay. He then returns to seek revenge as new teacher Bianca. People magazine has preview photos.

Haylock and Kugel were fundraising for the film when Bianca was included in season six of RuPaul's Drag Race.

"I had to leave to film (RuPaul's Drag Race)," Haylock told Gambit in fall 2014. "That was awkward, because I couldn't tell people I was on the show."

Participating on RuPaul's show and winning season six helped Haylock do another round of fundraising. The movie was shot in 2015, and the cast includes former Saturday Night Live star Rachel Dratch, Margaret Cho and Broadway and film actor Alan Cumming. RuPaul also appears in the film, as well as Drag Race stars Shangela, Alyssa Edwards, Willam Belli and Joslyn Fox.

There are screenings in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco in September. Hurricane Bianca will be available digitally Sept. 23.
