Along with the several other holiday weekends, the Fourth of July is seen as crucial to Hollywood's annual quest to sell tickets to big-budget blockbusters. The two big movies opening this weekend — for which many other summer '16 blockbusters got out of the way — are Steven Spielberg's The BFG (the director's first collaboration with Walt Disney Studios) and director David Yates' The Legend of Tarzan. The headlines in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are "Hollywood Faces Gloomy Independence Day" and "Box Office Expected to Flop July 4th." Watch the trailers below and decide for yourself.
