Sync Up Cinema, a free film-industry conference, to be held next week

The Sync Up Cinema 2016 film festival and film industry conference will offer panel discussions, workshops, parties and screenings from Monday, April 24 to Wednesday, April 26 at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz and Heritage Center, 1225 N. Rampart St. Panel topics include "Music Licensing for Independent Film" and "The Master: Best Practices in Film and Video Preservation." Among the films screened at this year's festival are documentaries Made In Japan, the story of Japanese country music superstar Tomi Fujiyama, and The Glamour and The Squalor, about legendary Seattle DJ Marco Collins. The event is produced by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation and Festival and New Orleans Video Access Center (NOVAC), and is entirely free and open to the public.
