Prospect New Orleans announced dates for its fourth installment, Prospect.4. The contemporary art expo opens Nov. 11, 2017 and runs through February 25, 2018.

The artistic director for P.4 is Trevor Schoonmaker, who is the Chief Curator and Patsy R. and Raymond D. Nasher Curator of Contemporary Art at Duke University's Nasher Art Museum. 

Schoonmaker is currently working with former New Orleans Museum of Art contemporary and modern art curator Miranda Lash on Southern Accent: Seeking the American South in Contemporary Art, which will open at the Nasher Sept. 1. It includes Louisiana artists Willie Birch, Douglas Bourgeois, Skylar Fein, Deborah Luster, Tameka Norris and others. Lash is now the Curator of Contemporary Art at the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, where the expo will be presented in 2017.

Prospect New Orleans also announced an Artist Directors Council, which will recommend artists. Members include Lash, William Cordova, Omar Lopez-Chahoud, Wangechi Mutu, Filipa Oliveira, Ebony G. Patterson and Joe Whitley. Cordova, Mutu and Patterson's works have been included in past Prospect expos.

Prospect hosts a roundtable discussion titled "Prospect New Orleans and the Big Picture: A Conversation Exploring Contemporary Art Exhibitions through Place, Artistic Practice and Community" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24 at the Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center (2200 Lafitte Ave.).
