The New Orleans Oyster Festival is a few months away, but this month diners can support the festival.

On March 22, select restaurants will donate 10 percent of their total sales to support the festival during the organization's inaugural Dine Out night.

By highlighting Louisiana oyster farmers and restaurateurs, the organization works to educate people around the country about Louisiana oysters. The festival also raises funds for coastal restoration efforts and donates a portion of proceeds to groups that work to advance those efforts.

Restaurants participating in Dine Out night include:

-Red Fish Grill (115 Bourbon St., 504-598-1200)
-Acme Oyster House (724 Iberville St., 504-522-5973)
-Bourbon House (144 Bourbon St., 504-522-0111)
-Desire Oyster Bar (300 Bourbon St., 504-553-2281)
-Café Hope (1101 Barataria Blvd., 504-756-4673)

The New Orleans Oyster Festival takes place June 4-5 and features food from more than 20 local restaurants, chef demonstrations and local music. Musical guests this year include Tank and the Bangas, Colin Lake, Honey Island Swamp Band, Mia Borders, The Mulligan Brothers, One-a-Chord gospel choir, Stooges Brass Band, the Bucktown All-stars and Bag of Donuts.
