Court 13, creators of Beasts of the Southern Wild, issues casting call for new feature film

Court 13, the New Orleans-based film collective behind the four-time Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild, has issued a casting call for a new, as yet untitled feature film. The collective will be casting two looks-specific roles over the next few weeks:

Female Caucasian, age 35 - 45, a strong, hard-working mother with a twinkle in her eye and joy in her heart.

Male Caucasian, age 30 - 70, tall with angular facial features. A tough man whose hard life and rough exterior mask a trustworthy soul.

Court 13 emphasizes that no acting experience is required to audition for these roles. Aspiring actors should should send an email to with the following items/information: a recent photo of yourself, an email address, contact number and a statement on whether or not you are a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Court 13 says it will be in touch with applicants to arrange auditions. The film will be shot later in the year.
