Prytania Theatre screens classic Mildred Pierce this weekend

The Prytania Theatre offers a break from Mardi Gras madness with a screening of film noir classic Mildred Pierce this Sunday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. Based on the novel by James M. Cain — and featuring a script co-written by an uncredited William Faulkner — director Michael Curtiz' Mildred Pierce is more psychological thriller than hard-boiled crime story. It earned Joan Crawford an Oscar for Best Actress. The film will be also be screened on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. Tickets are $5.75 and available here.
