The Krewe of Endymion debuts its Club Endymion float in 2016.
After years of ever bigger and longer beads dominating paradegoers' attention, hand-decorated and clever throws have garnered more attention lately. The Krewe of Muses, which rolls at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Uptown offers both. The krewe doesn't announce its theme before parade time, so there are no spoilers after the jump, but a few of this year's shoe beads and other goodies are pictured. There's also a glimpse of hand-docorated sunglasses the Krewe of Iris will throw in Metairie at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. And there are throws from the Knights of Babylon, which parades tonight at 5:30 p.m. in Uptown.
The Krewe of Endymion marks its 50th parade at 4:15 p.m. Saturday in Mid-City. The final float in the procession is the new Club Endymion float. It features an array of light displays and video screens rolling footage or Pitbull and Steven Tyler, who aren't in the parade but will perform at the Endymion Extravaganza in the Superdome. Endymion riders will throw many 50th parade commemorative items.
