Patagonia repair staff members are ready to fix damaged clothing.
Is your winter coat missing a button? Maybe the zipper's sticking on your favorite knit dress. Clothing repair professionals from Patagonia
will fix your clothing for free from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, when the brand's "Worn Wear Tour" stops at Massey's Professional Outfitters
' Mid-City location (509 N. Carrollton Ave.).
Customers can bring any garment with broken zippers, tears, missing buttons, etc. and have it fixed by staff from Patagonia's repair facility in Reno, Nev., who also will teach customers to do their own repairs. The clothing can be any brand. Used Patagonia clothing will be for sale in the company's rustic mobile repair shop, a biodiesel-driven 1993 Dodge Cummins D250 with a salvaged red-wine barrel shell. Certain Patagonia garments are free if you fix them yourself.
The event is part of Patagonia's efforts to reduce consumption and conserve natural resources.
It takes place in conjunction with Massey’s biannual “Gear Swap
” consignment event, when customers can exchange gently used gear and apparel for money or store credit. The Gear Swap runs through Oct. 6.
This custom vehicle crafted by artist and surfer Jay Nelson will stop in New Orleans on Monday, Sept. 21.
