It's hard to imagine a more fitting entry in Indywood's ongoing Bike-In screening series than the documentary Bikes vs. Cars, especially at a time when the safety of cyclists on the streets of New Orleans has become a source of impassioned debate. (Read Gambit's recent cover story on the controversy surrounding local bike lanes here.) The Swedish film seeks a global perspective on the issue as car ownership continues to rise internationally. The film screens tonight, August 7, at sundown (around 8:30 p.m.) in the vacant lot at 3045 St. Claude Ave. next to the Saturn Bar. Tickets are $5 or $7 with a chair and are available here.
