(4701 Airline Drive, Metairie, 504-885-5003), which offers raw and boiled seafood, will open a Mid-City location at 236 N. Carrollton Ave., the owners announced Monday. The new location in the former Cajun Brothers space will offer fresh and boiled seafood and to-go items similar to those at the Metairie store.

Bevi Seafood Co. founder Justin LeBlanc opened the Metairie location in 2013, selling crawfish, seafood dishes and po-boys, including the signature “smokey oyster” made with fried Gulf oysters, smoked Gouda cheese and pastrami bacon.

The Mid-City corner shop was home to Cajun Brothers and Kjean's Seafood.

"As a New Orleans native, I appreciate the seafood history this particular location holds,”LeBlanc said in a prepared statement. “The response to Bevi Seafood Co. in Metairie has been amazing and I’ll be bringing the same solid approach to New Orleans seafood and po-boys to Mid-City,"

LeBlanc says he will renovate the new space and open in fall.
