Venerable Los Angeles-based punk band X will play House of Blues Sept. 4 on the band's summer tour. Tickets go on sale June 26 at 10 a.m.

The band — lead singer Exene Cervenka, guitarists John Doe and Billy Zoom and drummer D.J. Bonebrake — have been working on solo projects and reuniting occasionally for tours, though they haven't released a new album for more than a decade.

X was the last band to play the Shim Sham Club in the French Quarter before it became One Eyed Jacks. The band's last performance in New Orleans was in 2011 at the Voodoo Music Experience and was one of the highlights of that year's festival.
