At least four of the declared Republican presidential candidates will be coming to New Orleans July 10 to participate in a forum at the National Right to Life (NRL) Convention, which will be held July 9-11 at the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street.

Dr. Ben Carson, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum have confirmed their attendance at the forum, according to the NRL. Their topic will be "Speaking Out and Winning for Life in 2016."

Gov. Bobby Jindal, who is set to announce his presidential aspirations at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner June 23, is not listed as an forum participant, but he is scheduled to speak. Jindal also is listed as an attendee at a "Festival of Life" reception on the evening of July 9, which, the NRL website says, will feature "culture, comedy by the Cajun Ambassador Jonathan Perry, inspiration from Governor Bobby Jindal, music from the Soul Heirs Brass Band, food, and dancing as we toast the pro-life heritage of Louisiana!" (Perry also is a state senator from Kaplan, Louisiana.)

Also on the program: New Orleans-based political consultant Mary Matalin, who is scheduled to emcee a panel called "The So-Called War on Women: Identifying the REAL Victims of the Abortion War" as part of the July 9 general session.

A prayer breakfast July 11 will feature Alan, Lisa and "Miss Kay" Robertson from A&E's Duck Dynasty. The prayer breakfast is open to the general public, and tickets are $40. A variety of registration levels is offered for the convention, including single-day and student tickets.
