The French Market Summer Harvest Gala will benefit the weekly farmers markets held at the French Quarter landmark.
A team of regional chefs will offer seasonal, local dishes at the French Market Summer Harvest Gala
on June 10, a benefit for the weekly farmers markets held at the French Quarter landmark.
Participating New Orleans chefs include Justin Devillier
of La Petite Grocery and Balise, Brennan’s executive chef Slade Rushing
, Herbsaint’s Rebecca Wilcomb
and Kristen Essig
of Meauxbar. Vishwesh Bhatt
, the executive chef at John Currence’s City Grocery restaurant group in Oxford, Mississippi, will join the group in preparing a family-style dinner for the event.
French Quarter cocktail lounge Cane & Table will provide signature drinks featuring Cathead Vodka at a reception preceding the event. The dinner runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and features music by the Creole String Beans.
Last October, Crescent City Farmers Market began a weekly Wednesday market at the site and in March, the French Market added an additional farmers market on Saturday mornings.
“By bringing together some of the city's top chefs to enjoy an evening in our pavilion, we celebrate the unique summer offerings of Southern Louisiana, and honor our food heritage at one of the country's most significant food halls," says French Market Corporation Executive Director Jon Smith.
Tickets are $150 and can be purchased at www.frenchmarket.org.
