New Orleans school students are invited to celebrate the end of the school year with an afternoon of storytelling, games, pizza and entertainment from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 15, at the Martin Luther King Library (1611 Caffin Ave., 504-596-2695; www.neworleanspubliclibrary.org).

The event is free an open to the public.

The “End-of-School-Year Fun Fest” is sponsored by the New Orleans Public Library, the New Orleans Public Library Foundation and Turn the Page, an initiative to make New Orleans the most literate city in the country by 2018, the year of New Orleans’ tricentennial.

A spokesman for the library says the event will include music and other entertainment, a video game theater, a youth-oriented resource center, pizza and drinks, live storytelling and arts and crafts activities.
