ULTA Beauty celebrates its grand opening in Magnolia Marketplace today.
celebrates its grand opening in Magnolia Marketplace (2900 S. Claiborne Ave., Suite 400) this weekend with giveaways and free makeovers. On Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, the first 100 attendees receive a "beauty treat" worth $5 or $10, as well as a free skin or hair service.
"It's the first 100 people in the store regardless of timing, each day," says general manager Leslie Teal. "It varies how early people get to our stores to line up. Some customers come two hours before and some one hour before. Doors open at 10 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday."
The 10,000-square-foot store features 20,000 beauty products from 500 brands, as well as a full-service hair salon. There are 774 locations nationwide, making ULTA the largest and fastest-growing U.S. beauty retailer. It shares the Claiborne shopping complex, developed by Stirling Properties and JCH Development, with Ross Dress For Less, T.J. Maxx, Michaels, PetSmart, Shoe Carnival, Raising Cane's, Capital One, Subway and T-Mobile. The new ULTA will create more than 20 jobs, and managers are hiring
. "Our entire store team is from the local community," Teal says.
According to Teal, spring makeup trends include contouring, smoky eyes with shimmery shadows, black kohl eyeliner, short and shiny nails, and the "not-nude lip": "It's your own color amplified in buildable shades of pink and peach," Teal says. Hair trends include marbled ombre (ombre with splashes of red) and subtle "pearly" highlights.
"We want to be a beauty destination for New Orleans, and offer beauty lovers all the cosmetics, fragrance, skin and hair care products they could dream of plus excellent guest service and beauty expertise," Teal says.
Brands include cosmetics, skin care, bath/body, hair care and a men's collection.
