The 2015 "Patois: The New Orleans International Film Festival" began last night, March 12 and continues through March 22 at venues across the city. The Festival's mission is about "nurturing the city’s human rights community, supporting the work of local organizers and organizations involved in these struggles, and providing a forum for artistic expression of local and international issues."
Screenings and workshops are scheduled at Zeitgeist Multidisciplinary Arts Center, Indywood Theater, Tulane University, and NOCCA. Featured selections include Big Charity, Gentrification and New Orleans, and Education Reform From Baltimore to New Orleans. A full schedule of events is available here.
