, still in the midst of his 30-years-strong Never Ending Tour, will return to New Orleans this spring. Dylan presents "An Evening with Bob Dylan and His Band" at the Saenger Theatre on April 29.
Dylan's latest is Shadows in the Night
, a collection of standards popularized by Frank Sinatra and early pop stars. Rolling Stone
also recently published a list of Dylan's best later works
His last appearance in New Orleans was in 2011 at the UNO Lakefront Arena, a show that glimpsed the pencil-thin mustache and psychedelic vaudeville persona of his later career, interpreting his classics with thundering, unpredictable arrangements. His relationship to New Orleans is well documented — his Chronicles includes several passages
about his love for the city, and he recorded several songs here in the late-'80s.
