Following the release of his March album Carrie & Lowell,
singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens
will headline the Saenger Theatre on Saturday, May 9. The concert comes in the middle of the three-month tour in support of the release of his seventh studio LP, out March 31, his first since 2010's The Age of Adz.
Stevens received widespread critical acclaim for his 2005 album Illinois,
the second (and last, thus far) in his state-themed works exploring people, places and themes within the state with his carefully composed folk-pop arrangements. Carrie & Lowell
— named after his mother and stepfather — will showcase 11 more folk-based works.
Tickets are $35-$45 and go on sale Friday, Jan. 30
