Swan River Yoga is expanding its reach into good-for-you meals to help keep a zen-like, yoga glow going all day with the opening of Good Karma Cafe inside its Mid-City location (2940 Canal St.).
The jewel-toned, breezy restaurant serves a variety of Indian-influenced dishes for breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday, including upma — a South Indian breakfast item featuring farina and coconut chutney — and a Malaysian curry bowl.
True to its health-focused roots, there also are a wide variety of smoothie, juice and tea combinations available, from the "sweet tooth" juice (apple, beet and carrot) to the "throat affair" (kale, celery, parsley, ginger and lemon).
Current hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., so early bird yogis can start the day on a health kick.
