Cash Money Records
hosts its annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway this month, and label co-founders Ronald "Slim" Williams
and Bryan "Baby" Williams
(aka Birdman) are also taking the event to New York City and Miami.
For its 18th annual giveaway — sponsored by the Johnny and Gladys Williams Foundation, founded by the Williams brothers in honor of their parents — the brothers anticipate donating 5,000 turkeys and sides at its 2014 events.
The event in New Orleans is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 at New Home Ministries (1605 Carondelet St.). United Health Care will offer health screenings from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with dental, blood pressure, diabetes, eye exams and other screenings available. The turkey giveaway is 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There also is music from Q93-FM DJs and video games, among other activities. The Williams brothers will also attend.
“For all that we’re blessed with, giving back is crucial," said Birdman in a statement. "It’s an honor to serve the community, and that’s something we take a lot of pride in. We want to do more and more every year, and we’re all very excited about what’s happening in 2014.”
The event also is Friday, Nov. 21 in Miami, and Tuesday, Nov. 25 in New York.
