How long is too long for a sequel? It doesn't matter. Quintron's latest album, Spellcaster II: Death in Space, is a spiritual successor to the 1996 album, recalling the musician and inventor's two decade-long odyssey of noise experiments, unique electronic work and spooky garage rock. The album also introduces Quintron's latest invention, the Weather Warlock synthesizer, which makes an appearance on the krautrock-y title track featuring Gary Wrong.

Spellcaster II is the latest offering from Pizza Burglar Records, also home to Quintron disciples Babes and CCR Headcleaner.

The overdriven organ-powered "Do the Raid" is an instant garage rock hit. The video, in which Quintron (who sort of resembles Neil Hamburger here) takes Miss Pussycat's misfit puppet students to school at Saturn Bar, made its debut on Entertainment Weekly. Watch it thereQuintron & Miss Pussycat perform at One Eyed Jacks Oct. 31 with Ballzack and Manatees and at the 2014 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience Nov. 2.
