Hannibal Buress will return to New Orleans later this year with a headlining gig at the Civic Theatre. The comic — who has performed in New Orleans several times over the last few years, with intimate gigs at local comedy shows and a (not so) surprise slot with the live Eric Andre Show, which he co-hosts — is a frequent guest on late-night TV, a former Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock writer, and an acclaimed stand up, whose well-received 2012 album Animal Furnace perfectly showcases Buress' low-key, conversational style. His return to New Orleans is his biggest show yet. He performs at 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Civic (510 O'Keefe St.). Tickets are $25-30 and go on sale Saturday, Oct. 25.
