Heads up: beer events in New Orleans this weekend

Courtyard Brewery (1020 Erato St.) opens today at 2 p.m. Brewer Scott Wood won’t be able to serve his own beer for a few weeks, but he has curated an impressive tap list for opening weekend. The list will rotate through the weekend as kegs are finished. The lineup features Blanche de Bruxelles, Saison Dupont Cuvee Dry Hopping, BFM 225 Sour Saison, Anchor Lager, Stillwater Stateside Saison, Gnarly Barley Korova Milk Porter, North Coast Old Rasputin, Saint Arnold Divine Reserve 14, New Belgium Le Terroir, Stone IPA, Stone Hibiscusicity, Green Flash Le Freak, Lagunitas IPA, Lagunitas Lil Sumpin' Wild, Green Flash Hop Odyssey Cedar Plank, Founders Breakfast Stout and  Great Raft Brewing’s At Arms Length IPL. Courtyard accepts cash only. Taceaux Loceaux offers food from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Hours this weekend are as follows: 2 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

At Spanish Plaza at the Riverwalk, Brews and Brats by the River is from noon-8 p.m. Saturday and it features Hefeweizen and Oktoberfest beer from Paulaner and bratwursts from Bratz Y’all. There's live music and admission is free.

Also on Saturday, the American Homebrewers Association hosts its first Rally in Mississippi. The Rally will be held at Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company in Kiln. The event celebrates homebrewing and connects beer enthusiasts in the state and surrounding areas. The event features a brewery tour, beer samples, gifts, prizes and more. The Rally takes place one week before national Learn to Homebrew Day on Nov. 1.

It’s the final weekend for the Deutches Haus' Oktoberfest. Attendees can try the first official Deutches Haus Oktoberfest beer, brewed by local brewery 40 Arpent Brewing Co. Oktoberfest is at 415 Williams Blvd., Kenner, from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m.-11 p.m. Saturday.
