Krewe du Vieux
doesn't launch its annual satirical parade until Jan. 31, 2015, but its subkrewes are busy getting ready. The Mystic Krewe of Inane holds its fundraising Cirque d'so Lame in St. Patrick's Park (across from Mid-City Yacht Club) from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. The festival features raunchy takes on old-time midway games, contests and odd and creepy experiences, such as the tactile Birth Canal Ride.

The fair is circus themed, with costumes encouraged and a sideshow/freakshow spirit. Returning this year is Fortune Telling Jesus, who is available for weddings. Other attractions are Awful Caricatures, Dunk Booth, Pie Toss and a balloon dart game. Common carnival midway games remade with crass themes include: Meth Mouth (standard carny game of knocking down pins dressed up as: knock the remaining teeth out of a meth addict's mouth, win a prize) and Sizzurp Race: be the first to use a water gun to fill Lil Wayne's sizzurp cup, win a prize. Games with names sanitized for this website, which also makes them more recognizable: T**** Twister, B*** Sack Race.

There also are performances by the One-Eyed Snake Charmers dance team.

General admission is $10 and includes beer. Food is offered by the Hey Zeus! popup. A VIP area features a shaded tent, a water slide, a bounce house and special drinks.
