First look at Junction, popping up now at Molly's at the Market

If you're looking for a late night bite after a day of drinking at Tales of the Cocktail, look no further than the Junction pop-up at Molly's at the Market.

The Bywater-based beer-and-burger spot is planning to open its doors on St. Claude Avenue in August, but will be previewing a limited menu at Molly's through Saturday. The burgers — named and quasi-themed after railway lines — are thick and crumbly, with freshly ground beef grilled on a flat-top and served on a dense brioche bun.

The Iowa Interstate (IAIS) burger is made of decadent ingredients native to the Hawkeye State, including bacon, blue cheese and a (barely discernible) fine corn relish. The hand-cut fries are thick, steak fry-style, and seasoned liberally with herbs.

The City of New Orleans (BTS) burger comes with a fried green tomato, remoulade and greens. (The menu quickly acknowledges, "There's no one way to represent the city of New Orleans, but we just thought this would make a great burger.")

The menu also contains other snacky foods, including two types of chicken wings and fried pickle chips.

The pop-up runs between 6-9 p.m.
