The French Ciné-Club screens Fabrice Cazeneuve's 2010 drama Cigarettes and Nylons tonight, Friday, June 6 at 7 p.m. at Alliance Francaise, 1519 Jackson Avenue. Shot in Louisiana and France and co-produced by legendary New Orleans filmmaker Glen Pitre (Belizaire the Cajun) for European public television network ARTE, the film was inspired by the real-life story of 6,500 American soldiers who found French brides during Work War II and brought them home. General admission is $5, free for members. More info here.
