Modest Mouse headed to the Civic Theatre May 12

Washington's Modest Mouse — the longtime, angular indie rock band fronted by marble-mouthed Isaac Brock and formerly joined by Smiths guitarist Johnny Marrannounced a string of U.S. tour dates this summer. The band will perform at the Civic Theatre (510 O'Keefe Ave., 504-272-0865) Monday, May 12.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. this Friday, March 14. Tickets are $42-$50.

The band formed in 1993 and achieved critical acclaim for its landmark sophomore album, 1997's The Lonesome Crowded West, as well as its major label debut The Moon & Antarctica. The Grammy nominated 2004 follow-up Good News For People Who Love Bad News included the ubiquitous hit "Float On."
