Fairs and Festivals: 6/13-6/19

Three festivals are happening in New Orleans between tomorrow and next Wednesday: Audubon Zoo's first ever Southern Fried Swamp Fest, another Thursdays at Twilight in City Park and this year's last Jazz in the Park at Armstrong Park. The best thing about these festivals is that if folks plan in advance, they can make it to all three!

Jazz in the Park closes out its 2013 season with music from Mike "Soul Man" Baptiste and Kermit Ruffins. As always, there will be arts, crafts, food, booze and a kids' play area. (3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Armstrong Park)

Southern Fried Swamp Fest is two days full of music, fun with animals, crafts and — most importantly — several fried Southern foods. Fried foods include crawfish bisque egg rolls, Oreos, boudin balls, bananas foster bread pudding and grits. (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at Audubon Zoo. Free with zoo admission, with zoo admission being waived for dads on Father's Day)
