Listen: Gambit's free music Friday

Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa were due to drop their Live in Concert tape yesterday — the three-year anniversary of their celebrated 2009 collab How Fly. But they're trying to clear legal samples ("Mixtapes ain't safe," Curren$y said.) Meanwhile, here's Curren$y, Talib Kweli and Kendrick Lamar on "Push Thru." Get a tour of New Orleans, Brooklyn and Compton, each rapper's respective home town:

from Brass Bed's A Bullet for You 7" EP, which will feature three new tracks from the Lafayette guitar-pop outfit. A Bullet For You is out Sept. 18 on Crossbill Records.

Cut from a similar cloth is New Orleans outfit Empress Hotel, which announced it'll release its long-awaiting Heavy Halo on Park the Van Records on Sept. 11. Download the track "Holly" here.

Theresa Andersson will spend next month on a mini U.S. tour — but you can grab the ghostly soul track "Fiya's Gone" here, from her 2012 album Street Parade. Read more about the album and Andersson in Gambit.

Free Fridays at Tipitina's continues tonight with Shamarr Allen & the Underdawgs and Mia Borders — download the singer-songwriter's horn-heavy blues-funk track "Something's Burning" here.

Also tonight: rapper Jadakiss is at Howlin' Wolf. Download his latest mixtape Consignment here.
