Dining for a difference July 19

  • NO/AIDS Task Force

Next Thursday, July 19, marks the NO/AIDS Task Force's always popular and ever-growing Dining Out for Life fundraiser.

This year, more than 80 restaurants from across the dining spectrum and all over the metro area have signed up to support the Task Force, a nonprofit that helps people living with HIV and AIDS. Participating restaurants have pledged to donate 25 percent of proceeds from the night. Diners pay nothing extra to help.

The list of restaurant options this year stretches from the Acme Oyster House in Metairie to Vianne’s Tea House in Mandeville. There are very fine restaurants, like Le Foret, Iris and One Restaurant and Lounge, and also very casual places, like the Italian eatery Red Gravy, the Freret Street standout High Hat Cafe and Short Stop Po-boys in Metairie. The contemporary Creole fare of Bistro Daisy, the vegan-friendly Brazilian cuisine at Carmo, New Orleans neighborhood classics at Joey K’s and even upscale bayou delights down along the water at Restaurant des Familles in Crown Point are all on the table this year.

Basically, if you can’t find a place on this list that you want to try out, you must not even be trying.
