In this week's Gambit, we preview the Buku Music + Art Project, which makes its festival debut this weekend. Read the Gambit interview with headliner, Mississippi MC Big K.R.I.T., and download his latest "mixtape" 4EvaNaDay, his last mixtape hurrah before his Def Jam debut later this year. (Live from the Underground is due in June.)

Also appearing at the festival: Diplo (if you missed his bounce single "Express Yourself," watch and download here), and Wiz Khalifa, who dropped a mixtape this week — download Taylor Allderdice here. SXSW head turners and moody synth pop duo Purity Ring also perform — stream tracks here. (Heads up: Yelawolf and Big Freedia dropped out the festival for medical reasons.)

WTUL hosts a couple signature showcases this weekend: tomorrow's Hootenany, a folk and country showcase featuring Humming House, Picnic, By and By String Band and The Tintypes. Listen to folk outfit By and By String Band here, and freak folkies Picnic here.

The radio station also hosts its "hangover block party" Sunday, with the Honorable South, Glish, The Flying Eyes, The Vandelles, Sol Cat and others. Download Glish's dream-pop output here.

Below, watch Truth Universal's latset video — "Paperchase," from last year's Resistance Vol. 2: Polygraph, which you can stream here.
