Shopgirl Style: Christina of Truck Stop Clothing

Next up in the homage to Magazine Street shopgirls is Christina Stroup. I first met her last spring, when she was a redhead rocking a really cute haircut and working at Trashy Diva Shoes . Now she's a brunette working at Truck Stop, but she still has a great haircut and boldly feminine style.

How would you describe your style?

Definitely a bit eclectic, and what I wear varies a lot from day to day. One day I might feel like wearing a lace top with a floral skirt and the next I'll wear a men's Western shirt with jeans and boots. I love vintage. I'm inspired by styles from every decade, from the '20s to the '80s, and I like to mix looks from different eras. I gravitate toward bold patterns, bright colors and high-waisted styles.

Who or what are your style icons?

I respect any woman who doesn't always follow the "rules" of fashion ... MIA, Debbie Harry and Kate Moss come to mind. I've also taken a lot of inspiration from different cities that I've traveled to or lived in.

What style blogs or magazines do you read?
I check out The Glamourai, Cupcakes and Cashmere, A Beautiful Mess and AB Chao. I don't read any style magazines on a regular basis, but if I'm at the airport, I'll pick up Nylon or Bust.

Where do you like to shop?

I shop mostly at thrift stores, and my New Orleans favorites are Red White & Blue and Goodwill. I go to American Apparel and H&M for basics, Uniqlo for jeans and Trashy Diva for dresses.

What are some of your fashion tips?

Wear what makes you happy and dress for yourself, not for anyone else!
