Prospect.2 announces featured artists

Dan Cameron's second edition of his international contemporary art biennial, Prospect.2, is scheduled for Oct. 22, 2011 - Jan. 29, 2012. Participating artists were announced today. The roster includes well-known photographer William Eggleston as well as local artists Bruce Davenport Jr., Dan Tague, Gina Philips, George Dunbar, Ashton Ramsay, Robert Tannen and Dawn DeDeaux.

Prospect.1 was planned in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the levee failures to bring the international art world to New Orleans for a three-month long expo spread throughout the city. Critics declared the 2008 biennial a success (and here). Issues with funding delayed Prospect.2, which was deferred from 2010 to 2011. As a marker, Cameron created Prospect.1.5 last year, featuring New Orleans artists.

Prospect.2 will be spread throughout New Orleans' neighborhoods, including the Warehouse District, Treme, the St. Claude Avenue corridor, City Park and at Tulane and Xavier universities.
