"Beers Not Bullets" benefit for chef Nathanial Zimet

Good news: Boucherie chef Nathanial Zimet, who was shot in an armed robbery two weeks ago, is out of the hospital today. And tickets have just gone on sale for one of the first of several large fundraisers to aid in paying for his medical care.

"Beers Not Bullets" will be held at NOLA Brewing (3001 Tchoupitoulas St.) on June 24 at 7 p.m.:

NOLA Brewing will be opening several special casks for this event. We will also have donations from: Southern Eagle, Crescent Crown, New Orleans Rum, Beer Advocates, Heiner Brau, Tin Roof, Bayou Tesche, Gordon Biersch and many more (they just keep rolling in!).

It's not just beer! We will have food and music at this event. Get there early for crawfish and jambalaya.

Also, many generous locals and supporters in other states have donated door prizes. There will be chances for you to win gift certificates and prizes Like us and get updates from the Facebook page to check out what's up for grabs.

Music is still being finalized, but Tony Skratchere has confirmed he will be closing us out on the turntables as the last set of the evening.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door, though this stands a good chance of selling out, since only 300 tickets will be made available. Here's where you can get your ticket.
