The weather on the Northshore this weekend is forecast to be sunny with high temperatures in the mid-80s — a good time to get outside and enjoy three days of music, food, arts and crafts and more at the 28th annual Festival of the Lake in Mandeville
. The festival is free and open to the public Friday, Oct. 15, through Sunday, Oct. 17 at Our Lady of the Lake Church and School

Grammy-nominated musician Marcia Ball
is the headliner. She’s scheduled to play at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Other performers include New Orleans Rhythm & Blues Company
(5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Friday), Four Unplugged
(8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday), Austin Sicard & The Medics
(4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday) and Christian Serpas & Ghostown
(4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday).
Local musicians will compete in a battle of the bands
at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Chotin Center on the church campus.
For the first time, the festival will include a vintage car show
from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Before that, at 8 a.m. Saturday, there is a 5-kilometer walk/run
Festival-goers can choose among 20 food vendors, 30 game booths and more than two dozen crafts exhibits — you can do a little early holiday shopping — as well as rides, a rock climbing wall and games appropriate for young children.
