Today the print review appeared (page 12 in Lagniappe), and we've got to say: There's some good news and some bad news.
The good news is this awesome hede and subhede, which didn't appear in the online edition:
The fact that the actors seem to be reacting to the headline ("Potty mouthed? Us??? And who uses the phrase 'potty mouth' in an adult newspaper, anyway?") is genius ... and "Unless your mind enjoys wallowing in the gutter" is easily as Church Lady-disapproving as anything in the original review.
But the bad news: The copy desk completely bowdlerized Mahne's best quote! They ruined it!
Audiences developed an emotional response to Kermit the Frog because he became a real character and you couldnt see Jim Hensons hand up his butt.
The print edition:
Audiences developed an emotional response to Kermit the Frog because he became a real character and you couldnt see Jim Hensons hand up his rump.
Is the word "butt" too strong for the Lagniappe copy desk?
