Gambiturged Louisiana senators ("Share the Road," June 8, 2009) to pass the Colin Goodier Bicycle Protection Act, which would call for a three-feet distance between passing motorists and cyclists, and would make harassing or verbally abusing cyclists punishable by law, among other initiatives (public awareness, education, etc.). The Senate passed (37-0) HB 725 earlier this month., and last Friday, Gov. Bobby Jindal signed the bill into law at 4:27 p.m. The law goes into effect Aug. 15.
