The Crescent City Farmers Market now offers a food stamp "market match" program. For every $25 spent using a Louisiana Purchase food stamp debit card, the market will match another $25, which means families can double their groceries at the market each visit from today until Aug. 15. The program is provided by the Ford Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Market days are every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Uptown Square (200 Broadway St.) and every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Magazine and Girod streets.
  • Local artist and urban planner Robert Tannen and architect Frank Gehry will unveil designs for the Tannen-Gehry Modgun tomorrow at 10 a.m. The Modgun is "an innovative, modular version of the traditional New Orleans shotgun which was created for affordability, sustainability and compatibility within the local neighborhoods and historic districts," according to Global Green. The inaugural home is set to break ground at Ursuline Avenue and North Rocheblave Street, where the designers, architects and Global Green team will make the announcement.
