On the newsstand tomorrow...online Monday afternoon:

• In our cover story, "Thou Shalt Not Kill," David Winkler-Schmit profiles Pastor John Raphael of New Hope Baptist Church in Central City, and his "Yes We Care" campaign to staunch the bloodshed and violence in New Orleans....

• Last week, the Louisiana House passed HB 60, which would prevent the state from putting both names of unmarried partners on the birth certificates of adopted children -- a move that detractors say penalizes both children and gay/lesbian adoptive parents. The New Orleans City Council passed a unanimous resolution condemning the move, and in a Viewpoint essay, Councilman Arnie Fielkow (an adoptive father and the author of the resolution), argues that HB 60 causes unnecessary harm to Louisiana children....

Clancy DuBos and Jeremy Alford weigh in on the emaelstrom and the political jabberwocky in Baton Rouge, respectively.....

Noah Bonaparte Pais interviews comic Jim Gaffigan, who's coming to the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts....

• ...and with the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience kicking off next week, it's time for Swizzle, our semiannual guide to wine, spirits and cocktails.

As always, thanks for reading. See you on the newsstand.
