  • Louisiana Green Corps hosts an outdoor appreciation day Wednesday, April 8, with a beautification project at Fontainebleau State Park, followed by a crawfish boil and a field day. Park Ranger Rita McMurray will give a presentation on the park's history and highlight the importance of natural resources at 11:45 a.m.

As part of the Hornets' Planet Rebound Initiative, the first 100 carpoolers will receive free parking, and, uh, free Chevron gas cards for the next 250. (It's supposedly NBA Green Week.) Hornets president Hugh Weber said in a statement that the team is "proud to help encourage and educate local businesses and individuals on the importance of being environmentally responsible ...
