Walter Isaacson on Daily Show

Jon Stewart and Walter Isaacson figured out how to save the newspaper industry last night. All you have to do is pay for original journalism, and newspapers should begin using ink that is highly addictive, forcing consumers to crave newspapers.

Isaacson— the former CEO of CNN, managing editor of Time and from Broadmoor — in the current issue of Time, writes about the newspaper’s current conundrum: more people than ever read the papers, but more and more papers are going broke in the age of free information. There has to be a way to pay writers and journalists for original content. Isaacson suggests it will take a variety of business models — paying per view, bundling etc…— to solve the crisis. Take a look while it’s still free.
