The plotting parallels in Forrest Gump and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button are obvious and well documented. But no one’s made a more convincing argument for Button’s scene-by-scene redundancy than Spike Feresten of FOX’s Talkshow. Since both films were penned by Eric Roth — who,  between the twin Oscar crushes, somehow composed one of the worst (and hence best) screenplays of all time, that bleakly comedic vision of post-apocalyptic Costneria,  The Postman (1997) — it’s a curious case of personal plagiarism. Behold: The Curious Case of Forrest Gump
