Wine of the Week

Experience the fresh-fruit character of Chardonnay grapes from premium vineyards in Clare Valley and other south Australian regions in this unoaked, screw-capped, value-priced wine. A swirl or two in the glass releases luscious-yet-delicate fruit and floral aromas dominated by citrus, pineapple and lime with fig notes. On the palate, lovely green apple, white peach and more citrus lead into a lengthy finish with perfectly balanced acidity. Ideal for drinking now or over the next two years. A wonderful aperitif or accompaniment to chicken, Caesar salad, bouillabaisse, grilled white fish and pasta dishes with mild sauces. Where to buy it: Langenstein's in Metairie, Dorignac's and Cellars of River Ridge. Where to drink it: The Bistro at Maison de Ville, New City Grille and the Jazz Emporium. (Listings current at press time.)
