With grapes sourced from CaliforniaÕs diverse wine regions Ñ Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles and El Dorado County in the Sierra Foothills Ñ this wine is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon-based (90 percent), blended with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Aged 12-14 months in French oak, the wine offers appealing aromas of red and black currants, mocha and allspice and engaging flavors of black plums and wild berries with hints of anise and vanilla amid soft, well-integrated tannins. Drink now and over the next five years. A good companion to rare steak, roast lamb, pork tenderloin, barbeque and Italian dishes. Where to buy it: ElioÕs Wine Warehouse, most Sav-A-Centers, Whole Foods Markets Uptown and Metairie, DorignacÕs, Breaux Marts in Metairie, Jefferson and on the West Bank, Cost Plus World Markets, LangensteinÕs in Metairie. Where to drink it: IreneÕs Cuisine, GW FinÕs, Upperline, VincentÕs Uptown, RuthÕs Chris Steak House and TommyÕs Cuisine. (Listings current at press time.)
